FREE Summer Guided Bushwalking 2016-17

27 December 2016 | Mount Higginbotham Loop
9:30am meet at the Village Square
Steep hills, grade 3 - Approximately 3km return
Walkers will meet at the Village Square, Corral Car park at 9:30am. This short stroll takes in the summit of Mount higginbotham and some of the early history of the resort. returning via East Street and Higgi Drive, exploring the Pygmy Possum habitat along the way. Returning to the Village Square.

Head to the High Country to welcome in the New Year at Dinner Plain, with fireworks as well as music and food & wine at Dinner Plain's venues. Two awesome displays:

FREE Summer Guided Bushwalking 2017

2 January 2017 | Brandy Creek Mine and Cobungra Township
9:30am meet at the General Store
Steep hills, Grade 3 - Approximately 3km return
Walkers will meet at The General Store. You will require your own vehicle to drive to the Cobungra Ditch South Track Head (5.5km). This tour will take walkers over the site of the Brandy Creek Mine highlighting the remarkable history of one of the regions highest deep lead mines. Return via the same route.

FREE Summer Guided Bushwalking 2017

22 January 2017 | Dargo Lookout Stroll
9:30am meet at The General Store
Grade 2 - Approximately 1.5km return
Walkers will meet at The General Store at 9:30am. You will require your own vehicle to drive 2.5km to Wire Plain. This easy stroll takes walkers through snow gum forests and to the Dargo Lookout. Learn about the great rush to the upper Dargo Goldfield in 1863, and of Jimmy Bloomfield who was lost trying to protect his newly discovered diggings. Bring a thermos and jam sandwich and try out the new picnic shelter.

Flickerfest Short Film Festival

26 January 2017
A free celebration of the best of Australian Short Film.
We are excited to welcome the internationally renowned Flickerfest film festival to Dinner Plain on Australia Day 2017.
Grab your picnic blanket, some cheese and bikkies and a bottle of wine or a Blizzard brew and relax on the grass of the ski slope, under a starry sky among the snow gums.
When the sun goes down, the giant outdoor screen will light up with the 2017 winners of Flickerfest's Best of Australian Film.
This is a free event. What a way to celebrate the alpine summer on Australia Day!

Dinner Plain Alpine Enduro

26 January 2017
Shred through the snow gums on pristine alpine trails.
A fun day for riders of all abilities, this enduro is guaranteed to get the blood pumping. Set among the scenic snow gum-lined trails surrounding Dinner Plain, ride around the outskirts then chill out in the fresh alpine air.

3-hour XC Enduro: hit the 7.5km flow circuit.
Gravity Enduro: fastest decents
Pump Track Time Trial
1-hour Funduro: fun for families on a 2km lap
Race solo or in doubles.

Enjoy a free guided mountain bike ride hosted by the DP Riders Club. Time TBA

Pump Track
Whip it on Dinner Plain's very fun and flowy pump track, set up in the village centre. A family favourite.

All Enduro riders must have a MTBA race licence (which includes insurance) to participate. If you don't have one, you'll be pleased to know that MTBA offers an 8 week free trial licence which will allow you to test out how you like it at the Dinner Plain Enduro.

9:30am meet at the Village Square
Steep hills, Grade 3 - Approximately 3.5km return
Walkers will meet at the Village Sqaure, Corral Car Park at 9:30am. This short stroll takes in the summit of Mount hotham and some of the early history of the resort and the surrounding landscape. Take a short detour to the Baldy Gold Mine. Return via same route.
