A True Hotham Local
Drew was introduced to skiing at four years old and has been skiing at Hotham every winter since.
After growing up ski racing, he switched to freeriding and park skiing in his teens and has been pursuing this form of skiing ever since.
In more recent times, he developed a particular interest in backcountry free riding and loves exploring the incredible terrain that Mt Hotham has to offer.
Over the past few years, together with the great work of some of Australia's leading photographers, he has been fortunate enough to have many of his images published both online and in magazines that showcase all that Hotham has to offer both within the resort and outside the resort boundaries.
His skiing has taken him all around the world in search of snow, with memorable destinations including Japan, North America, Canada and New Zealand.
In 2011, he travelled by boat to the top of Alaska’s inside passage where he spent three weeks heli-skiing in the Chilkat Mountain range surrounding the small fishing village of Haines Alaska. Highlights of the trip included a ‘first descent’ and getting to ski the longest run in Alaska Heli-skiing’s permit zone; ‘Indy 5000’. As the name suggests this is a 5000 vertical feet descent from the top all the way to the valley floor!
Together with his wife Ali and young daughter Madison, they love being part of the close knit Hotham community and look forward to many more powder filled adventures in years to come.
You can usually see Drew at the front of the line as the Heavenly Valley chair opens early for First Tracks in winter!
