The beginner experience at Hotham

Make the most of your time on the slopes with a Beginner Lesson. With our dedicated beginner area, serviced by the Bunderool Carpet, the Hotham beginner experience provides breathtaking views, in a sheltered area with world-class instructors to help you gain confidence on the snow.  

Available for guests 15 and over.

Lesson times

Lesson duration is 2 hours and commences:

• 10:00am
• 1:30pm

Meeting place

All Beginner Lesson participants meet outside the middle entrance of Hotham Central 10 minutes before your lesson.

Come ready to hit the slopes with your ski or snowboard gear and remember to pack these essential items: 

• A valid Mountain Access Card, with Beginner Lesson and a valid lift ticket loaded onto it 
• Goggles and/or sunglasses to protect your eyes from glare 
• Waterproof snow pants and jacket 
• Warm layers under outerwear 
• Ski socks (not cotton) 
• Waterproof mittens or gloves 
• Neck warmer/ tube or Balaclava 
• Sunscreen SPF 15 or higher

Beginner lessons will be available to book closer to the start of next season.

The Beginner program is specifically designed for those who have never skied or snowboarded before to experience the magic of sliding on snow.

*Lift access is not included in your lesson purchase and all lesson participants require a valid lift ticket regardless of their ability level. Find out more about lift tickets here.
