What a weekend! The freeride mecca of Australia lived up to its reputation, with Hotham hosting Australia’s first ever Freeride World Tour events over the weekend. 

Saturday saw 130 of the best junior freeskiers and riders in the country throw down in Peach Bowl for the 2025 Mount Hotham Freeride World Tour Jnr 1*. The standard of freeriding across the divisions was incredible and everyone who took part should be very proud of themselves!

Sunday saw the competition take things up a notch! 70 adult competitors took part in the 2025 Mount Hotham Freeride World Tour Qualifier 1* event. Local legends battled it out against top talent from across Australia and beyond.  It was a day filled with flips, spins, stacks and exhilarating cliff drops!

We can’t wait to build on what was an incredible event here at Hotham over the weekend. A huge thanks to Team Hotham, Mt Hotham Free Ski, Volkl and Mammut for getting behind the event and helping to bring it to life as well as the athletes, officials and spectators for making it such an awesome couple of days! 

The Freeride World Tour is just the start of what’s shaping up to be a jam-packed August! Get ready for Arc’teryx P’arc Sessions, a Women of Winter Networking Night, ANC Snowboard Cross races, Hotham Boardriders Banked Slalom, and we round out the month with the Mum’s the Word Rail Jam. 

Plus, there are bands, parties and après sessions going down at venues across the resort. Finally, fireworks displays will light up the sky over Hotham Central on Saturday nights this month! Check out the full events calendar and the weekly what’s on guide below.
