Saturday Special and Mum's The Word Raffle!
It looks like another cracker of a day on the way! The sky is clear, the wind is calm and it should stay very pleasant all day. The current temp is 3.5 degrees, and the forecast top is a balmy 6 degrees.
Although it's been a warm night, the snow has still had a decent freeze overnight, so will start the day off firm before the sunny aspects soften for fun spring-like turns as the day warms. The groomers feel like they have enough texture for good turns from the get-go, while off-piste will be best avoided until the sun has done its thing.
Road Runner is scheduled for First Tracks from 7.30am, and it'll be worth checking out Australia's best SBX athletes on their final races on the course this morning. Plus, keep riding into the dark at Night Skiing, 5-8pm under the Big D lights.
The Mum's the Word raffle kicks off at 5pm in Hotham Hotel, raising important funds for cancer. It'll be a mega auction with heaps of great prizes to be won, so don't forget to grab some raffle tickets today!
Slap on the screen and have a beaut day on the hill.

Backcountry Conditions
15 August
There is a significant slide hazard in the backcountry again today. All aspects will be slick this morning, sunny aspects should soften for spring-like turns as the day warms, but beware of south facing and shaded slopes that will likely stay icy and pose a hazard all day. Take care out there.
Its a repeat of yesterday, Village to Work shop only groomed last night..Fabulous clear day coming up. Pack those picnics.

Surface pretty firm again to start off. Will soften during the day Conditions are still variable and can be tricky. Ski with care especially on downhill sections.

The only place on Mt Hotham for tobogganing is at the HOTHAM HUB toboggan slope ( Wire Plain ) Bus stop 11.
The Hotham Hub has toilets, toboggan hire, hot food and drinks to make your experience all that more enjoyable.
The Peashooter toboggan slope at DP is also open.
