It snowed up high for the final day!
After yesterday's wild weather temperatures have cooled and this morning we've woken up to a couple of centimetres of fresh wet snow for our final day of operations.
It's currently +0.3 degrees, headed for a balmy top of 9 degrees and right now the wind is moderate out of the SSW. There's a light fog in the village however this is expected to lift and there's a good chance we may even see the sun pop out to help us see off the season.
The mighty Summit Trainer looks good to go and pending assessment the Summit Quad may even get up and running too. Keep an eye on the lift report and App for updates.
Also a big happy Father's Day to all the dads out there there! If you're up here today pop over to the Bird where dads will be celebrated with Apres specials, prize giveaways and tunes from 12pm.
It's no secret that this season certainly was a challenging one that tested all of us. One thing that shone through however was how awesome the Hotham community was in rallying together to make the most of what we had.
A big shout out to the amazing Ops team who put in all the extra work to keep us sliding for as long as possible and to our wonderful team at Patrol for having our backs out on the hill. Also big cheers to Paul, Bill and Jords for all the early morning chats and sharing of information that all goes into producing this morning waffle.
Whether you're chasing warmer or cooler adventures over the coming months both Bill and I hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you back on the hill next Winter.
Thanks for reading along! Cheers, Burner.

Backcountry Conditions
6 September
Take care if you head into the backcountry.
There is only a marginal cover of snow and the thin veneer from last night's snowfall may hide some unpleasant hazards.
Welcome to the last day of the season, and of course it snowed last night. Not much at all but things look fresh and clean again.

What to do today? Much better weather for that invigorating walk from D.P. to Hotham. Might clear for a walk out to Mt Loch however keep a close eye on the weather! A BIG SHOUT OUT to our amazing XC groomers who this year somehow managed to groom as much as they did with our less than stellar snow pack.. As disappointing as this winter was , we still got out there and made the most of it. I hope to see you all on the trails winter 2027 and to have a more extensive xc grooming report to offer.
