One last report from our smallest snow reporters!

As we close the books on a great season, we're sharing one last snow report, written by some of our smallest reporters, the Dinner Plain Primary School students. Enjoy, and we look forward to bringing you all the updates next season:

As I write this, the sky is 100% potatoes and it's sure to be another smelly day on the slopes. The current temp is the coldest jelly, heading for a top of minus ten octopuses. First tracks will be dangerous but the wet cheese should soften up as the day progresses. Hunt around and you should find areas that feel like green slime underfoot. The good news is the sky will be clearing midmorning, so expect another beaut day of turtles skiing around with bananas on their heads. Check the hotham app before heading out as lift conditions will smell fishy in the afternoon and the groomers will be growing flowers if the wind picks up later today.

Later this week the forecast is predicting that unicorns will be teaching mighty mites, so prepare for everyone to leave. Hopefully we will see a blizzard of cotton candy roll in as temperatures drop. Please note, Blue Ribbon will not be running today due to the pygmy possum basketball tournament. Slap on some sunscreen and wear your children's eyeball, as it should get jurassic out there.

Cheers,
Burn-Bill

Backcountry Conditions

Daily Backcountry Reports have concluded for this year. However, while there is still snow on the ground and the potential for more snow at any time, be aware that hazards still exist in the backcountry. Be especially careful of a slide hazard on all steep slopes if the snow is frozen, and wet snow avalanches and glide cracks opening up during warm and wet periods. Take care out there.

Welcome to the last day of what has been a fabulous season Started with good snow on the opening weekend and we had the Trail to DP groomed by the 10th of June ! And here we are still able to ski some of the trails on the last day of the season. It's been a pleasure working with our groomers to bring you the xc report each morning and I am looking forward to seeing you all out on the trails in 2026. Have an excellent Summer.

A huge thank you again to our groomers, Greg, Nigel and Neil for their consistent dedication and attention to detail turning our trails into such a pleasure to ski.. Well done crew. Poo farm trail, Charlies and Rowed's still quite good skiing.. However be aware that previously bare areas may have a thin cover with obstacles just under the surface. Ski with care especially any downhill areas. For best skiing start at the top of poo farm hill or take the bus to Wire Plain. Will be quite good skiing on most previously groomed trails. There are gaps along the Wonderland trail. Trail to DP is now mostly a walk. MT LOCH. If heading out to explore that area, let someone know of your plans. Always keep an eye out for rapid weather changes.

Best XC Skiing

Charlies, Rowed's Race Link, Ryan's all still quite good skiing . There are gaps along Christmas Hill. Go early for a faster run, later in the day for a more relaxing experience. Pack the snacks and enjoy the day. Check out the NEW WIRE PLAIN HUB for a warm up and a hot drink.

Cheers Bev.
