Organise your equipment hire on the way to Hotham and hit the slopes faster when you arrive! Rays Ski Shop in Myrtleford has a huge range of ski and snowboard equipment hire and fully qualified boot fitters to make sure you get the most out of your equipment on the snow.

Check out pants and jackets from a myriad of top quality ski and snowboard brands. In store we also stock gloves and helmets plus eyewear from brands such as Oakley and Dragon. You can also pick from a large range of ski boots that will make your time on the slopes that little bit more comfortable.

It is a requirement from Vic Roads that you have tyre chains in your vehicle once you begin the ascent up the hill from Harrietville. Get your car fitted with Rays' Chain Hire Service before starting the climb up the hill. Hire skis for two or more people and receive free chain hire. 

Pre-purchased mountain access cards loaded with your lift tickets and lessons can also be collected from the pick-up box at Ray’s.

To ensure you and other road users can reach the slopes safely, all vehicles must carry diamond pattern wheel chains during the winter period regardless of the conditions. Chains must be fitted where directed according to resort signage.

The ‘Fit Chains Here’ sign will be located at a designated chain bay so you can pull off the road to safely fit your chains. Chains should only be fitted to your driving wheels, though 4WD vehicles should fit chains to manufacturer's recommendation.

Chains are not available for hire once on-mountain and must be carried with you from the beginning of your mountain ascent in Harrietville or Omeo. If you’re coming from the Harrietville side, you can pick up your chains from Ray's Ski Shop in Myrtleford on the way to the resort. If you’re also needing snow gear, Rays have several deals offering discounted snow chains with taboggan, clothing or equipment hire. If you hire skis or snowboards for two or more people then you can pick up your chains for free!

Please note, we will not provide snow chains for rental use on vehicles where the vehicle manufacturer specifies within the owner’s manual that they may not be safely fitted. You will be required to make your owner’s manual available to us for verification before you are permitted to use our chain rental service.

Fines apply for not carrying and fitting chains as directed. If your vehicle cannot be fitted with chains due to clearance issues, then alternate resort access must be arranged. Please check your vehicle manual before you leave home and make sure your vehicle is suitable for chains.
