Explore the village of Hotham and the picturesque Dinner Plain with our Free Village Bus and Dinner Plain Bus Service. Whether you're heading from pillow to powder, bar to bar, or making your way home after an exhilarating day on the slopes, our buses make it easy and convenient!

Hotham Village Bus Service

As part of your resort entry fee, Mt Hotham Alpine Resort offers a free Village bus service, running regularly around the resort to get you from your pillow to powder, bar to bar, or home after a day on the slopes. Simply wait at any bus stop sign around the village precinct (see map below) to catch a ride.

The bus route includes 14 stops, taking you from Stop 1 at Hotham Central — your gateway to everything Mt Hotham has to offer, including slopes and essential amenities — to Stop 12 at Wire Plain for Snow Play experiences (for staff car park stops 13 and 14, let the bus driver know if you are going there, or hail the Dinner Plain bus if you require a lift back).

Season: Operates 7 days a week throughout the official snow season, commencing 9am Friday, 5 June.
Service Hours: Running every 15 minutes from 7am to 12.30am

The Alpine Gateway

Please note, the regular Village Bus loop does not service the multi-level car park at The Alpine Gateway. Throughout winter, there is a complimentary on demand village shuttle service operating daily from 7am to 7pm. To arrange this service, please call (03) 5759 3550.

Dinner Plain - Hotham Bus

The Hotham – Dinner Plain bus service runs a convenient, regular daily schedule with hourly departures from sunrise to sunset. It’s the perfect way to extend your mountain adventure, giving you more time to enjoy everything Mt Hotham has to offer, even after the runs close.

The shuttle bus makes the journey in just 15 minutes, with hourly departures to keep you moving.

Season: Operates 7 days a week throughout the official snow season, commencing Saturday, 6 June.
Service Hours: Running every hour on the half hour between 7.30am and 10.30pm (Staff bus departs 6.30am)
Price: $23 per adult $12 per child

How To Use The Bus

To catch a ride is simple - purchase your ticket online and have your barcode ready for scanning as you board. Jump on the bus from any of the convenient bus stops listed on the above timetable.

Please Note:

Travel from Mt Hotham to Dinner Plain is free on the Dinner Plain bus service.
Tickets are only required when travelling from Dinner Plain to Mt Hotham.
This bus route also services the Whisky Flat area. Please inform the driver if you wish to be dropped off at Whisky Flat.
The staff only bus will run from Dinner Plain to Mt Hotham at 6.30am daily.
