Getting Here

HOME / Access

If you're looking for an unforgettable snow experience, you've come to the right place. Hitting the slopes has never been easier, so whether you're travelling by car, coach or by airplane, you'll find there's plenty of options to get to Mt Hotham.

Before you hit the road, it is important to know that during the declared winter season, a Resort Entry permit is required for all vehicles. Resort Entry permits can easily be purchased  in advance online so you are all set for your arrival to the resort.

Mt Hotham is nestled amongst the Victorian Alps of the Great Dividing Range between Harrietville and Omeo. Mt Hotham is accessible via the Great Alpine Road all year round.

To ensure you and other road users reach the slopes safely, Diamond Pattern Wheel Chains must be carried and fitted where directed during the declared winter season.

In need of a bit of extra support? Take the worry out of getting here by using one of our trusted providers to help you on your way.

Once you enter the resort, there are designated areas for day and overnight parking. Whilst there are always Guest Service staff on hand to assist you, find out everything you need to know so you are prepared for your arrival.

Why drive when you could fly? Hotham airport is Australia’s highest fully operational commercial aerodrome for commercial and private or charter flights.

Want to spend more time on the slopes and less time organising all the minor details of your group holiday?

Mt Hotham welcomes visitors of all abilities, and supports Disabled Wintersport Australia's resort services program.
